Finals Week

So I have come to realize that finals week although seems to be very organized but I think that it isnt. You never have to worry about finals overlapping, no. But I am a biology major taking mainly upper level biology electives. All of which are extremely time consuming if you want to get good grades and truly understand the materal. Due to what I think is lack of understanding and lack of communication, I have two of my hardest finals on the same day only an hour apart from eachother. Which to me I feel is really unfair because I am not really truly able to devote the time I need to to the exams. But worse then that, today I had to take two lab exams in the same two classes. Both needed a lot of studying but neither I was able to truly give it my all because of the miscommunication in the same department between two professors. I think that if professors want you to give it your all then the departments need to do their best to not put tests on the same day.

The New Health Care Reform

Sitting here with my mom watching the news is driving me crazy. Every news station you turn on is talking about Health Care Reform. I am so sick of listening to news channels putting out false information about this topic. People are either too stupid to look up the information themselves or to listen to everything that is being said to them by their political party. I don’t understand why people think that some people don’t deserve health care I think that those people should be the one telling the single parent working 3 jobs which none offer health care why they should have to pay out of pocket for their child to get healthy again. Or why an insurance company has the right to say that they will only cover part of your hospital stay even though you were required to stay there longer then what the insurance says you need in the hospital. I am so tired of the miscommunication the american people are having with this whole topic, but really you can’t blame anyone but the american people because they are the ones who refuse to look up the facts.

Traveling

With my travels to a new country for the first time I had a lot of worries. Going to a country that you are not able to speak the same language is really scary. After being there I found out that talking to people isnt always about the words you say. I was able to get across the what I was needing without being able to speak German, I was able to order food and even beer. It was an amazing feeling to communicate with people in a way you never thought was possible. Its something that I would and I will do again but hopefully spend more time in a new place that doesnt speak english.

Talking With a Hurt Tongue

I found out today that trying to talk with a hurt tongue is really hard. This morning I somehow managed to bite my tongue really hard, causing it to swell. The more the day has gone on the bigger my tongue has gotten, making me slure my speech more. People have had to keep asking me to repeat things constantly. I’ve noticed that today I have had to use more hand signals to get the point across more clear. Communicating today is almost impossible.
